Peter Benton is a Principal with iLifeScience, a consulting company specializing in accelerating change in the Life Sciences industry. Peter has 20 years of broad experience in the pharmaceutical, automotive, industrial and aerospace sectors. His global experience encompasses acquisitions and divestitures, business development, manufacturing, strategic planning, and business reengineering. Throughout his career, Peter has developed a noted record of improving profitability and increasing cash flow for businesses. He has held P&L responsibility and has led groups of more than 300 employees.
Peter has played a leading role within the life science industry serving as Vice President of Central Planning for Johnson & Johnson PRD and subsequently as founder, managing director, and CEO of several companies, including Flexible Medical Systems, Sceata Technology Group, d2law and Wharton Venture Partners. While at Johnson & Johnson, Peter successfully overhauled the company’s new product development process by spearheading redesign of portfolio, project and resource management and the implementation of a global Enterprise Resource and Project Management system based on Planisware’s OPX2 platform. This project has been recognized for its significant impact on managing Johnson & Johnson’s diverse portfolio and it’s model of breakthrough performance has been duplicated by many other pharmaceutical companies.
In addition to his work in the life science industry, Peter also worked in the automotive, industrial and aerospace sectors, having spearheaded merger and acquisition efforts for TRW’s $11.3 billion tier-1 automotive business. His efforts resulted in completed acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures with investments and proceeds totaling more than $180 million. Peter is also an alumni of GE’s Manufacturing Management Program, advancing through positions of increasing operations responsibility in several of GE’s leading businesses.
Peter is an adjunct professor at Rutgers University where he teaches entrepreneurship in the Executive MBA program. Peter received his MBA in Finance & Strategy from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and graduated cum laude from Northeastern University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Peter resides in Peapack-Gladstone, NJ with his wife, Robyn, and their two children.

Jeff Painter is a Principal with iLifeScience, a consulting company specializing in accelerating change in the Life Sciences industry. Jeff has nearly 20 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry focusing on acceleration strategies within research and development, having spearheaded numerous initiatives to create radical change in the clinical development and supply chain processes using Performance Potentiation techniques.
Jeff’s experience spans research and development, supply chain management, business development, and information technology for some of the most successful firms in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Jeff led the efforts to create the first clinical information portal as a founding member of DecisionView Software. This effort led to creative methods to prospectively evaluate patient recruitment performance and leading indicators to assess study timelines. While at GlaxoSmithkline, Jeff was recognized for developing novel strategies to accelerate drug development by applying process improvement techniques to pharmaceutical development, an effort that was credited for demonstrably accelerating 22 separate drug project submissions. Jeff is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on the topic of research and development acceleration strategies.
Jeff earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and BA in Liberal Arts from the Pennsylvania State University. He received his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Jeff resides in Swarthmore, PA with his wife, Donna, and their three children.
